Quick answers, worked out from today’s deals
Every answer below is calculated from the live deals in our feed, not written once and left to go stale. Averages spread the full cost of the contract, including set-up fees and contracted price rises, across the minimum term.
What is the cheapest broadband deal right now?
The cheapest deal of 30 Mb or faster on 27 October 2026 is Community Fibre’s 100 Mb deal at £14 a month on a 24-month contract. Counted over the whole contract, 4th Utility’s 150 Mb deal is cheaper at £15.75 a month on average.
What is the cheapest full fibre broadband?
4th Utility’s 150 Mb deal has the lowest full fibre cost over its contract: £15.75 a month on average, from £18 a month on a 24-month contract.
How much does gigabit broadband cost?
Gigabit deals (900 Mb and faster) start at £19 a month with Toob. The median gigabit deal costs £36.49 a month on average across its contract.
How much should I pay for broadband?
The median broadband-only deal costs £30.50 a month on average over its minimum term, price rises included. Paying much more than this for the same speed usually means you are out of contract.
Which broadband deals have no price rises?
44% of deals have no price rise during the minimum term. The cheapest is 4th Utility’s 150 Mb deal at £18 a month. Sky, NOW and Gigaclear do not fix their rises in the contract, so we do not count them.
How much do price rises add to a contract?
Where a contract includes a price rise, the median rise adds £72 to the total cost. Since 17 January 2025 Ofcom requires rises to be set out in pounds and pence before you sign.
What is the cheapest broadband with no contract?
The cheapest rolling monthly deal of 30 Mb or faster is WightFibre’s 150 Mb deal at £30.95 a month. You can leave with 30 days’ notice, but you pay more per month than on a 24-month contract.

Deals for your situation
Four numbers decide what you really pay
Add the monthly price for every month of the minimum term, the set-up fee and any price rises. We show this as an average per month.
Contracts signed since 17 January 2025 must state any rise in pounds and pence. Big providers typically add £3 to £4 a month once a year, mostly in March or April.
Most deals run for 24 months. A shorter or rolling contract can cost more per month but lets you leave sooner.
Providers in Ofcom’s speed code give you a minimum speed when you sign. If it is not fixed within 30 days, you can leave without a penalty.
Broadband deals: common questions
Will my broadband price go up during the contract?
Usually, yes. Since 17 January 2025 any rise must be written into the contract in pounds and pence, and most big providers add £3 to £4 a month once a year, mostly in March or April. If a provider raises the price by an amount that was not in your contract, you can normally leave without a penalty within 30 days of being told.
Can I leave my broadband contract early?
Yes, but you will usually pay an early exit fee. Most providers charge the remaining monthly payments minus costs they save; a few charge a fixed amount for each month left. You can leave free of charge if the provider breaks its minimum speed promise and does not fix it within 30 days, or raises the price by more than the contract allows.
Do I need a credit check to get broadband?
Most providers run one, often a soft check that does not affect your credit score. Plusnet and Community Fibre do not run credit checks on broadband, and some social tariffs need none.
How long does it take to switch broadband?
Under One Touch Switch, in place since 12 September 2024, you only contact your new provider. It agrees a switch date, your old provider ends the contract and tells you about any fees, and the gap in service should be no more than one working day.
Do you show every broadband deal?
No. We show deals from our live feed, which covers the major providers and many full fibre networks, but not every small or regional provider. Some networks, such as KCOM in Hull, are not in the feed yet.
